Look behind the starter for casting numbers. There should be a date code there consisting of a letter and two or three numbers. The letter indicates the month (A=Jan, B=Feb, etc.), the last number is the last digit of the year (9 for 1949 or 1959, etc) and the previous numbers the day of the month. Narrowing it down would be the casting numbers on the right front by the fuel pump.
