Some aftermarket turn signals have 6 wires (like a Signal Stat 800 series) and no use for the P(ilot) connection on the flasher. Others have 7 wires (like a Signal Stat 900). The 7th wire connects to the P connection and causes a small lamp in the handle of the turn signal mechanism to flash.
