Planning ahead to rewiring my dash gauge lights, the wire insulation is just too brittle to use. I would like to keep the existing sockets but would like to replace the wire. The brass contacts are crimped on to the wire. I tried removing them, thinking I could solder them to the new wire, but I was unable to undo the crimps releasing the wire. I know I can buy new sockets with pigtails but wondered if there is a source for just the brass contacts with a short pigtail wire.

I know this issue has been encountered before so I’m asking the collective what your fix was.
