| | | | Joined: Feb 2026 Posts: 15 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2026 Posts: 15 | On the rear end cover I use a gasket and a sealant. I had been using a silicone RTV type, and recently I started to use Permatex Aviation form-a-gasket sealant liquid. I figure if it is for use in Aviation applications it will work well in Automotive. Absolutely do not get it on anything other than on the gasket or metal part, it is very difficult to get off your skin, so I suggest wearing gloves. It's a brown liquid much like the old Indian Head gasket sealer. 25-30 pounds torque on the bolts should be sufficient.
