Great day -- Thanks, Jerry!!

Here's a few pics from today. I'll be working on the videos this week. Jerry walks us through proper feeler guage use, using a dial indicator to check piston to valve clearance, and the Companion Cylinder Valve adjustment method.

Videos you will *not* see:

1. John neglecting to remove a zip tie (that was supporting the manifolds while they were unbolted) and then wondering what was keeping the manifold from moving towards the head...

3. The garage filling with smoke from the engine burning off everything that got into it during the headgasket failure and subsequent work ...

The first thing Jerry did was check the piston to valve clearance with a dial indicator. We did this because of the new valves (they had longer stems).

Then, knowing that we weren't going to have any issues with pistons hitting valves, Jerry set all the intake valves to 8,000/inch and the exhaust valves to 12,000/inch.

With the valves initially adjusted, we could start the engine to warm it up for the "Companion Cylinder Valve Adjustment." The CCVA will be better explained in a video ... :)
