You may want to use the adapter plate to use the older style water pump that will fit your truck like the 216 ..years ago I moved my rad forward because I could as mine is a gmc and it did not require to cut anything up just had to drill new holes for the rad on the opposite side of the cradle. This worked well but the truck would start to overheat if standing in traffic in the summer .Now it does get hot in Northern Ontario but not for long but I see you are in Florida and you may have problems.My truck is a 54 and I see yours is the older style so there may be no issue with yours but with mine the adapter plate puts the fan back to the center of the rad ,now I have not had my truck on the road after I changed mine but what I have read is this is a better fix .
