Well, when I talked to Autozone, Oreilly and Napa locally, they showed part numbers, but the gasket was not available. Maybe I misread Rock Auto, but thought at the time I looked they were out of stock as well.
It was fun enough to find a water pump for the 235 that didn't require your first born. And it didn't come with a gasket.
But, in the time I spent looking, I just got out the old gasket material and made one.
I do look in pretty often, and I'm looking at putting my 235 back in and taking the V8 out.
I miss the nostalgia of the six, the stomp start, having to work the choke sometimes on a really cold day.
I miss shifting the column shifter..... I did install an electric wiper motor when the vacuum wiper died..... I'll keep that.
I've got to go to a different section to ask about the steering column, so will see you there sometime.
Oh, my Chevy pickup is a 1958 model 3100 short narrow bed. My grand dad bought it when I was about 5 I think. Me and the truck are the same age. Not sure which of us is in better shape.
