I'm working on my 1950 Chevy 3100 PU. I need to do a brake job so I need to lift and support the front end. Before I do any damage, I just want to make sure that I'm lifting and supporting in the right spots. I read one thread on this topic but the PU was a different year, so I want to make sure. I'm listing a few different scenarios below so I know what my options are once i get under the truck.
1) would it be ok to lift under the middle of the axle (shown by red arrow, first pic) and then put jack stands under the axle below the springs (shown by blue arrow). 2) can i lift on the front cross member (green arrow, second pic) and put jack stands under the frame rails? 3) can i lift on the cross member under the tranny (blue arrow, third pic)? 4) Is this frame rail a good spot for the jack stands (purple arrow, third pic)?
