I had a 1959 C-60 single rear, two speed axle, 261 ( if I remember correctly) six. “Brunhilde” I did all of the brakes, wheels, tires and everything (except the vacuum windshield wiper motor. Never could find one). She went away because, at the time, I didn’t have a place for her. I know something about Big Bolts, but not enough.
I have found a 1971 grain truck, tandem dual C-60 with a 427, split rear, single screw, I think. Looks like air over hydraulic. Haven’t had a chance to drive it but am told it all works. Dump bed too. Tires fair. Little bit of rust in the rockers and floor, but cab is decent. They are asking 6k. I will offer 5.
What do I need to look for and watch out for before I buy ( or don’t)
I need to haul rock and dirt, among other things, it’s 25,500-32,000 GVWR. Do you Texas boys know if this will qualify for farm plates, non-cdl?
Feel free to opine!
Matt
