The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Driveline 1946 Chevy 1/2 ton brake main cylinder and pedal shaft bracket

I have a 1946 Chevy truck.  I have a 216 engine. Currently I have a 3 speed (590874) on the floor. I would like to switch it with a 4 speed (590474) that I already have.

The correct bracket is GM 477083 (the brake main cylinder and pedal shaft bracket) that fits 1936-46 Chevy 1/2 ton trucks with the 4 speed transmission.

In the picture I have a modified 475811 bracket that I’m told this will work with my 4 speed having the spacers(?) ground off where it mates to tranny. I don’t really want to remove tranny and replace everything until I know it will work. Any thoughts are appreciated. Glen
