Both the Filling Station and RockAuto show a break in water pump between 1940 and 1946 216's (RockAuto doesn't list one for 1940)
The Filling Station lists a rebuild service for 39-40 water pumps LINK, but you have to send your pump to them unless they happen to have them in stock. And there are some pumps they can't rebuild. Expensive in any case.
[on edit]Filling Station says all 216's use the same water pump to block gasket, so maybe the only difference is the size/position of the hose connection. Maybe a later and less expensive new pump could be adapted with a little hose modification. Don't know for sure.
