OK- - - -I just made some more accurate measurements. The compression height of my 248 piston is 2.345. Adding the 7" rod length and half the 3.813 stroke comes out to 11.252 inches. Rounding off for possible accumulating measurement errors, it looks like at least my example of a 248 has an 11.25 deck height. "Your mileage may vary!"
