We had issues with top cowl vent (located between the two windshields) on our 1948 3100. We determined that the rubber seal is too hard and doesn’t compress. We found out that they sell a foam like seal, purchased it and the problem was resolved. We had the same problem with the side cowl vent, there too we purchased the softer seal and problem solved.
