Oh wow. That did it. (Golly, they make a "Post Hole Auger" !!)

I didn't realize it was so long. I suppose that'll keep most of the dirt away from the drill.

We need something for deep root fertilization, too. So, this might be the ticket.

I don't do eBay (although there were some on there). I'll have to wait from John to get home to try that.

Cletis -- we have THE AUGER on the tractor. Most of the neighbors use it for post-holes. I think we've used it once or twice. But it was a big job -- fencing at a friend's farm. A LOT of fencing.
