The lowest numerically that were offered were 4.10:1. Before you tear anything apart count the axle revs compared to the drive shaft revs. if you hold one axle still you count the DS rotations and multiply by two and that will give you the axle ratio. Look on the inside of the glovebox door of the donor truck to find the RPO code for the axle. I don't know what that is for a '65 C20 but someone here does.
From the factory the 4.10 HO52 was standard on Chev 3/4 tons equipped with 327 V8 and auto trans through '72. Otherwise it was an RPO. I believe GMCs of that era did not use the Eaton HO52 axle 1951 3800 1-ton"Earning its keep from the get-go"In the DITY Gallery1962 261 (w/cam, Fenton headers, 2 carbs, MSD ign.), SM420 & Brown-Lipe 6231A 3spd aux. trans, stock axles & brakes.
