Two ways to do this (IMO);

1) The Rochester path -
Properly identify the carb (via tag) and source the RIGHT kit (probably from Jon H). If you’re quite confident the carb is original to the vehicle, you might have a shot at sourcing the RIGHT kit by vehicle application.

If the carb shows any signs of being rebuilt a time or three, and the tag is missing….there is a 80%+ chance it’s a mishmash of parts that may or may not be compatible with each other. If you are committed to using this carb, buy a cheap Walker kit and hope for the best. It’ll kinda sorta run. Most B’s, unless they are really dialed in, run in a “controlled spill” sort of fashion.

With either the right kit or the wrong kit, might as well plan on doing the warpage-straightening procedure in Jon G’s tech tip. Also plan to do a bit of futzing and polishing of the power valve.

2) The Carter Path-
Buy a Chevy-application Carter YF core. Might be a 3211s in your case. A 2101s would probably be fine as well. Buy the right kit, rebuild it, and bolt it on. Done.
