| | | | Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 4,480 Moderator, Electrical Bay | | Moderator, Electrical Bay Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 4,480 | Red it dawned on me while shaving there is another reason the inner shaft seal will fail to seal and that is that somebody installed it backwards. Not likely but any lip seal has an inner and outer orientation (lip-wise) and installing one incorrectly will let the seal fail to do the job. You also have to remember there will be a little pressure (roughly 7 or so pounds) and that will work against a good seal in any case. Good luck!
