The 292 (and 230/250 6 cylinder engines) use the same bellhousing as a V-8 engine. The bellhousing
that would be best suited for your conversion would be from a 55-59 V-8 truck and 63-66 V-8 or 6 cylinder truck.
These have the correct rear mount pads and will match up with any GM manual transmission. You can use
your existing clutch fork and linkage from the old engine.
There are a variety of T-5 transmissions that someone else can give you guidance on.
