Most bypass filters with the 1/16" restrictor hole in the standpipe will drop hot oil pressure by about 5 PSI on an engine with proper clearance on the rod and main bearings. That's not enough to be concerned with, and it wouldn't matter if your filter hoses were an inch in diameter. That would just add a bit of volume to the oil capacity.
