I need a temperature sending unit in order to use my original gauges (1946 Chevy 1/2 ton). We've not found them sold separately, and we don't know if there's a work-around. (Dolphin/modern Gauges isn't an option. I'm keeping everything original, minus swapping to 12V.)

Any advice, or obscure vintage parts stores we've not found? How have you rigged yours to work? TIA
