Hi all
I have a 216 stove bolt engine in a 1952 style side utility in Australia.
When I bought it it had an electric fuel pump fitted before the eom mechanical fuel pump.
It also had a Pressure Regular valve on the suction side of the electric pump.
Ie, pressure regular valve, elect pump, Oem mechanical fuel pump.
It all worked ok then it started to surge when you put the foot down and on occasion stopped.
I have removed the pressure regulation valve and the electric pump and left it as original with just the mechanical fuel pump.
Starts, idles fine and runs up to around 35mph then starts the jerking / surging thing like it’s starving for fuel. Gets worse as it warms up.
Been told to completely remove/ strip/ clean the carby. Also been told to replace the condenser first.
Appreciate any advice before I move forward.
