I've picked up a few YFs on Ebay- - - - -"rebuildable cores" at pretty reasonable prices. The carb for an AMC/Jeep 232 cubic inch inline six is calibrated about right for a 235 Chevy, and other than a bit of tweaking of the throttle linkage it's a simple thing to adapt it to a stovebolt engine. Those carbs are also about 25-30 years newer than the mid-1950's carbs, so they're less likely to be worn out to the point they're not rebuildable. RUN- - - -do not walk away from the new, offshore-made replicas of the Carter carbs. Junk right out of the box!
