Jon, as long as you have the Zenith book out, I have in my spare parts a Zenith 28 carb with a stamped number 10163C. Anyone know what the original application was? I've checked the 1939-53 and 1955.2-1960 GMC Master Parts Books with no luck. I don't have '54-55.1 books.
My 228 came to me with a Carter YF. I bought the Zenith to try to keep my truck "original", but the Carter ran better so I put it back on. This particular Zenith also has the adjustable high speed jet.
'57 GMC 102, Original 347 V8, HydraMatic, 3.08 rear gear, added A/C, disk front brakes, HEI, AFB carb, '98 Honda Black Currant paint. T-boned and totaled 10/12
'52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.
