I am a commercial general contractor by trade and a Chevy truck enthusiast by choice. I have owned almost every yellow tool made and used them in my construction company and on my truck projects for years. DeWalt tools are made by B&D and are considered to be the industrial/commercial grade, whereas B&D is considered the lesser grade more prevalent in home use.
I have both the DeWalt mini angle grinders, the metal case and the plastic case, both 4-1/2". I have had good luck with both even with frequent use and fairly heavy tasks. I have also given my father the large DeWalt angle grinder that he uses in his home-based welding business. He is happy with the performance of this tool. I got tired of seeing the old imports over in the bone pile in the corner of his shop that he had worn out in a few months.
Wood magazine does a very comprehensive, non partisan tool performance review every year. I consult this guide when making a small tool purchase. The DeWalt mini angle grinder graded out very well in all categories, including performance and value for the dollar. In any event, many of the major manufacturers offer a good quality mini angle grinder.
