Gentlemen,
I have just purchased a 42 Chevy big bolt. It was listed and sold as a 1 1/2 ton but I'm not so sure. After arrival it looked alot like my current 3 ton. I measured the wheel base and it is 13', same as Bertha, I measured from the rear of the cab to the rear of the fram and that was 10 1/2', same measurement. There was a sticker on the door that reads GVW 8,000. I believe that is quite a bit more than the standard 1 1/2 ton.
The data plate is worn away except for the bottom numbers that are stamped.
