I'm just proud as anything that our first *ever* VP candidate to be a *MARINE* is also from my OccFld -- 4300 "Public Affairs."

I see that he was assigned to 2nd MAW. At one point in my career, I was the 1st MAW PAO. Proud of my affiliation with the warfighters of Marine Corps Aviation! As, no doubt, Senator Vance is. And well he should be!

I served a tour at the joint service Public Affairs school house (at Ft Benjamin Harrison) and even served as the Marine Corps Detachment Commanding Officer at Ft Ben. I no doubt served with (and may have taught) those who taught J.D. Vance to be a Combat Correspondent (LtCol Keith O USMC, MSgt Bob D, USA and CMSgt Johnny B USAF -- if you're out there, hats off to YOU, my brothers!).

Last to know, First to go -- Public Affairs.

Semper Fidelis!
