Interesting you mentioned that. On my `67 C-50, I noticed that the front suspension isn't hard on bumps, but the rear suspension is. This is w/ no additional load added. I found that the lower rubber shock bushings are rotted to the point where the shocks are hanging from the top mounts & serving no function. The shocks are severly rusted & I was thinking replacing the shocks will be necessary. Maybe I can get away w/ just replacing the rubber bushings. Maybe I'll try that.
Are your shocks mounted? How old are your leaf springs & shocks what shape are they in? Do you load your truck up a a lot of weight?
