Toyota borrowed (stole?) heavily from the stovebolt engine design, but parts don't interchange. Back when Nissan went by the "Datsun" name, the 1500 CC engine for one of their 2-sesater sports cars was a direct copy of an MG engine- - - -I've swapped an MG cylinder head onto an early 1960s Datsun "Fair Lady" engine.

Those Nissan Diesel pistons and sleeves can also be used in GMC 248 and 270 engines with an altered stroke crankshaft. The 270 goes to almost 300 cubic inches with a 4 1/8" stroke and 270 blocks are a lot easier to find than 302s. I'm gathering up parts to build a 248 stroker, using rod bearings for an Allis-Chalmers tractor engine.
