Getting the snake wire up thru the A pillar was a no go and I tried all kinds of wire, even weed eater cord. Finally saw an old thread and a fellow Stovebolter said he used a coat hanger. I thought no way that can work. It's too stiff. It can't make those turns. But I was desperate so I gave it a try.
Ta-Da, took about 10 minutes. Most of that time was getting a hanger and getting it ready. My new radio is scheduled to arrive Monday.
