Is there a trick for how the timing sensor is attached to the spark wire? I bought a new Performance Tool inductive timing light. When I attach the sensor to the #1 spark wire it just shines steady - it doesn't flash. I have it facing the spark plug as directed. The sensor is very loose on the spark wire, it slides down the wire. To see if I was hooking it up wrong, I tried it on the #2 wire and it flashed. Back to #1 no flash. Is there some method I'm missing to attach it to the wire? I went to the Performance Tool website to look for instructions - but of course there are none. Thanks in advance for any insights.
BTW, this is a 1946, stock 216 engine.
