I've found an air valve used in air bag suspension systems. However, I'm not sure if those will switch vacuum or not. They may require a few PSI to accuate.
Two valves with a SPDT switch would run about $60. Might be the way to go.
Every parts place I check tells me the old push-pull cable is NLA.
