Explain to me why these carburetors work on a 270 V8 but not my 6, 250? My intake is a 4 barrel and has an adapter on it for the 2 Barrel. I don’t want to remove my intake any more. Too much trouble!
You can keep your 4 barrel intake manifold. Sort of like that guy who claimed "You can keep your doctor"! That one, and the adapter it needs to make a Rochester 2 barrel fit it, will only rob 10-15 horsepower at wide open throttle, compared to the right setup. No problem, unless you intend to win races. A street machine will seldom, if ever use all the power an engine is capable of making. Any original equipment Rochester 2G series carb, or any Stromberg 2 barrel that's anywhere close to the right cubic inch capacity, will make the engine run better- - - -and get better gas mileage, than any Holley clone built in some 3rd. world country. My advice might be worth exactly what I charge you for it, but it's the product of 65+ years of making a living keeping these old junk heaps running- - - -take it or leave it- - - -I'm not going to miss any meals either way.
