It depends. My radiator support (and the old one I got to replace it) had those diagonal rods, but I've seen supports without the diagonals. I suspect that yours is original. But the FAM, which shows '53 and '54 stuff has a figure (dated 5/53) of the radiator support without them. I don't think it matters whether they're there or not.
