A quick note I forgot. The little guy inside on the jump seat is grandson Wyatt. He turns 16 next week and is 6'2". How time flies!
Don't know how many of you are like me but when I find a new project, I tend to jump right in and get started. However, the thrill sometimes wanes and the progress slows a bit.
I got the burb tore down in just a day or two and the frame stripped down also. I built a "dolly" to put the body on while I worked on the frame.
One tip I learned too late was to drill small holes wherever sheet metal is joined or bolted so you will have a reference for reassembly. Would have been a great help later on.
The frame made only two trips to town -- sandblasting and exhaust fab. Body went once for media blasting. Other than that all work was done in my shop. I also built a rotisserie to make work much easier or accessible.
Thought I'd throw in a couple of pics of GI lettering. On the dash "call no. pill box" and "do not approach until directed."
