Preston Represent! 1965 C60 school bus; 1967 GMC 6500 school bus. Both are motorhomes inside-the '65 has been mine for 30 years and I've done the whole RV conversion and Cadillac 500cid V8 engine swap ahead of the SM420. The '67 is wholly stock GMC 351 V6 with a 5 speed, but it's longer than mine and it was professionally converted. There's even a bathtub in its bathroom!

The C60 is also special because four generations of my family have worked on it-from my master cabinet builder Grandfather, to my Dad, me and my spouse, and my kids. A tribute to generational Star Trek fandom, it's named NX-01 Enterprise; the V8 under its hood was my father's engine from one of his Cadillacs. He's been gone for 20 years now. Like the fictional starship captain Archer, I also lost my Dad way too soon.

The 6500 was a gift from a bike shop client who was getting too old to visit it at the Skykomish campground outside of Index, plus the bridge had washed out, so we spent multiple weekends trying to get it running. We did, but then it popped a head gasket and it was clear that it wouldn't make it over Jack's Pass. So the bus was free, but I spent $3400 getting it towed home. Well worth it, my daughter lived in it for almost two years while working and completing her associate's degree in Bellevue. She named it the Stargazer, after Picard's first command. It's her bus, I'm just its caretaker here at the proverbial fleet museum.
