Yeah, I agree with Jerry. DO NOT connect the battery until you've checked out the connections and are absolutely sure they're correct. Learning circuit diagrams can be good, but spoiled in just a few seconds. That's why I suggested using a powered test light or ohmmeter. They don't have enough power to generate a "positive smoke test."
