If I understand correctly, the owner of the truck in question is elderly and his priority is convenience of access.
That points to firewall.
Cargo box would be my last choice ; I prefer a clear open box. I don’t like tubs , and I really don’t like a noticeably raised bed with air shock equipment underneath.
