There's no better time than the present! I haven't gotten around to posting photos and updates so I suppose I should start from the beginning. In 2019 the first thing I did after pushing the truck into the garage was to start evaluating the brakes and steering linkages. This truck was driven through fields with ruts and holes so the front springs were in rough shape, the tie rod bend, and brakes were rusted shut.
I started with disassembly and electrolysis of the components to de-rust them and see what was salvageable. From the backing plates on I rebuilt the huck brakes up front and rear. A new tie rod with updated ends and freshened up knuckles made the steering a bit tighter. I found plenty of resources here on the forums, tech articles, and the trusty shop manual. Next up, firing up the 216!
