I have a 49 GMC 1/2 ton. I changed to rack and pinion front axle with power disc brakes, When I hook up the vacuum the power assist works fine, but the pedal does not return to the full up position and the brake lights stay on. I can pull the pedal up with my foot and it will stay up until the next time I use them but then does not return up the next time with out foot assist. If I disconnect the vacuum the pedal returns to the up position and the brake lights turn off everytime they are used. I have the original brake light switch in and as far as I can tell there is no adjustment on that. It doesn't bother me that the pedal stays an inch or two down as long as the brake lights go out.
So my question is how do I get the pedal to return to the up position or is there an adjustable switch available or a modification to the existing switch or etc. etc.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
