10Micron; I believe that would be number 2748 as I think that GM started numbering at 1001. I'll let someone with more experience confirm that but I remember that from earlier discussions.

FredM; I went to the American Classics link (at the top of the page) to their VIN decoder and it came back with a 1969 2-wheel drive Chevy. I know there have been some discussions on the accuracy of the AC VIN decoder, so take that with a grain of salt until you get it confirmed. I also went to the "Tech Tips" link above then "Identifying Your Truck" then "Deciphering your VIN" then the "Old Truck Stuff.com" link which came back as unknown. To aid in your quest, it would be helpful if you described what you think you have (and include a link to a picture if you have one) and then I know someone can get you closer to the truth.
