If it,s a SM465 i,ll agree it would be better to get a used one. They are ornery to rebuild. Used ones are plentiful & generally good because they are a tough trans. They are pretty much the same from 68 up. Some of the big bolts had the e-brake behind it. Around the early 80,s up they had some improvments.
