The freeze plug in the block with a grommet in it will make the engine an oil burner. The PCV valve needs to be up about valve cover height with a tall, baffled standpipe out of the road draft tube hole to keep splashed oil from getting into the valve. The GM engineers who designed the OEM system knew what they were doing.
