I have installed two New Port Engineering electric motor kits as well, both on 1954 Chevy trucks, and had few issues. Working under the dash on these trucks is not one of my favorite pass times but very happy with the results. Be sure you get the correct 1954 Chevy Truck kit. The 47 to 53 kits are different. I believe the USA built GMCs are different again due the different dash.
