I tried to do a little research and found that the Chevy Parts books list the "cable" that is used for 1947-59 Suburbans as GM# 3811539. The cable in the parts book has a listed length of 49-13/64". Chevy used a similar cable for the Cameo truck tailgates and Station Wagon and Nomad Models, but those lengths are shorter than the listed Suburban cable. Maybe you want to put an ad in the Truck Parts Wanted forum?
