That's why I had the red anodizing done. I was going to have the caliper brackets anodized also for contrast. I know the brackets I made out of 2 different Wilwood brackets are 6061 aluminum. There was 2 problems with that idea. First there are steel studs in them for the calipers to mount on that can't be removed. The anodizer said it would ruin the part and their tank if any of it came in contact during the process. The second problem was that when I made these I had an aerospace welder weld and xray them. We lost him to Covid and I'm not sure what alloy he used for filler rod. Evidently every alloy has to be treated differently to get the same color so I opted out.
