That casting number is higher than either of the 4-speeds listed in the 29-57 Parts manual. So I'm guessing it came out of a later than '57 truck. Here's a screen shot of the listing.

I'll bet that Dan can track it down. He's the resident parts tracker guy. wink

[on edit]Found it in the 29-54 Parts Manual. Looks like it is a 53-54 tranny. See the second pic.
