Hello,
For the past ump-teen year, building a shop to work on my toys has been in the plans, but some how gets pushed aside for other projects like kitchen renovations... how did that get to the top of the list???? Anyhow, kind of glad I didn't start it yet since I now have a two ton.I measured the truck and it was about 20 feet long, about 7 wide and 7 tall. I would like to use the shop to work on the mechanical and store it. I have a tractor shed to store my tractor and a portable with a cement floor for my old jeep station wagon and the daily runners go in the driveway. So it would be a shop to work on items. I don't want to build a GIANT shop, nor do I want to build a shop that I am always moving one thing to get to another. The major tools other than the usual hand tools are a mig welder ( one of those combo welders with the mig, tig and stick would be nice too), oxy-acytelene, drill press, bandsaw, compressor, and airlines. I had plans drawn up years ago that were 36 X 24 feet. The two garage doors open on the 24' gable end and the building design calls for 36' deep, but did have a wall planed at the 24' mark. I'm thinking that isn't going to work with a 20' truck. So, it may be open to 36. Any input would be appreciated, or any websites with examples. How tall should the walls be? I have to look into height restrictions even though I am in the country and on 3 acres. I built one building that has radient floor heating and it is great. Even if I don't put it in right away, I am thinking to at least have the tubing installed.
