Aside from it affecting rubber parts, ethanol is only a problem when it sits for a few months. It separates and forms a gel like substance that clogs up carburetors. Over the years I have owned allot of gas powered equipment, snowmobiles, yard tractors, weed trimmers, lawn mowers, etc. Some sit for six months at a clip. Prior to the availability of non ethanol gas, I was cleaning three to six carbs a year and use if Stabil didn’t help. Since I switched to non ethanol, I don’t have that issue and my equipment usually starts up with no issue. Living in the North East, my truck sits from November thru May so that’s why I use nothing but non ethanol.
Now my issue is batteries. Don’t get me started!
