Does this happen with the speedos? What guarantee is there that the GPS transmission to the speedometer will continue in the future?
It does happen with speedometers too. It is generally less because they generally have larger antennas and better software, but when a solar storm rolls through or the local military base is doing testing you can just be out of luck.
I figure if the satellite transmissions are just gone, society has collapsed far enough that you probably won't care how fast you are driving.
Both transmission and gps based systems have their advantages and disadvantages.
