I 've got a 54 3100 that I'm going to start on and was going to go with a disc set up on the straight axle and a 10 bolt. I thought that I might want to step up to a little bit better front end. I've had several straight axle rides over the years and they were ok. Had a 54 panel that was all original and drove it all over Texas and surrounding states riding at trials motorcycle events ( much younger then). Currently I Also have an unrestored all original rusty 3600 that I drive local.
So this guy in Nevada has a AD chassis that is left over from a customer that went to a full custom chassis ( something that is way out of my budget) it has been painted or powder coated very nicely, boxed, has a 9" with 5 bolt chevy pattern axles, has a disc set up on the straight axle. He will put an IFS from CPP on it. So I would be buying a roller with IFS etc. This is his trade and his shop has done many of them so he says. The price is reasonable. I can weld and fabricate to some degree but maybe not as good as needed to put a weld in IFS. I was kind of leaning towards a bolt in IFS, but if I can get this roller for a good price than I might just go that way. He has a nice and pretty web site but that can be deceiving. That's why I thought I would reach out to you guys for input.
